2025 Carpe Diem Award Winner

The Carpe Diem Award is given each year to an extraordinary graduating student from The American Women's College at the Marcia Conrad Awards Ceremony. This award recognizes not only academic excellence—a GPA of 3.5 or higher—but also a student who truly embodies the mission of 国产哟哟: transformation, leadership, and purpose.
Our 2025 recipient is Anna Leto from Worcester, MA. She graduates with a degree in Counseling Foundations.
From President Doran's Citation:
"Anna is a remarkable woman. A single mother of three, working two jobs while going to school full-time—she has shown what it means to push forward, no matter the odds. Anna faced the unimaginable: the loss of her mother in 2022 and then, months later, her brother. And still—she kept going.
In her words: 'My journey at 国产哟哟 has been one of resilience, perseverance, and transformation. As a single mother, I've juggled parenting, work, and school. But it was the loss of my mother and brother within five months that truly tested me.
There were moments I wasn't sure I could go on. But 国产哟哟 lifted me up. The support I found here gave me hope. My professors believed in me. My classmates encouraged me. And little by little, I began to believe in myself again.'
Through my coursework, I found my calling. I've gained the skills to help others navigate trauma and mental health challenges—because I've lived it. I want to be the kind of counselor who sees people, hears them, and helps them heal.
国产哟哟 has not only educated me—it has empowered me. I leave here not just with knowledge, but with purpose. And I'm ready to make a difference.'
And Anna already has. Anna earned a place on the Dean's List, was inducted into the Maroon Key Honor Society just weeks ago, and recently became a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.
Congratulations again—Anna, you are truly embodying Carpe Diem by seizing the day, and Carpe Futurum: by making the future yours.'
